July 8, 2025 Meeting

Fresno Stonewall Democrats will meet on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 5:30 PM, at Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant. We start with a thirty minute social so everyone has time to greet each other, exchange information or flyers, and order dinner and drinks before the meeting. We call to order at 6:00 PM, make introductions, and proceed with our agenda.

Guest Speaker: Greg Little, he/him, president elect of the Tower District Rotary Club of Fresno and retired peace officer.

Tower Rotary started mid 2022, with a group of people interested in creating an inclusive and diverse Rotary group in Tower. Tower is its own special vibe and we wanted our membership to reflect that. We were one of the 1st lgbtq inclusive Rotary groups in CA outside of SF. There are now two more, in Texas and Utah, and more starting up.

Officially chartered Jan 2023. We currently have about 30 members ranging in age from 20’s to 50’s. This is an unusual age group for Rotary, but it has been exciting. Rotary leadership has been very excited to have a young, fun group that’s doing things a little different than normal.

Rotary’s focus is “service above self.” Which we apply by partnering with other Tower organizations and service groups to provide help wherever needed. Rotary has historically been known for money and a source of financing projects. We changed that to focusing on physically helping others and keeping our costs down.
