ANNOUNCEMENT OF ENDORSEMENTS

Members of Fresno Stonewall Democrats met on March 10, 2026, to decide on candidate endorsements for the upcoming June Primary Election. We are pleased to announce the following endorsements:

FEDERAL ENDORSEMENTS
US Congressional District 21: Jim Costa

STATE ENDORSEMENTS
CA Board of Equalization D1: Nelson Esparza
CA Senate District 14: Esmeralda Soria
CA Assembly District 31: Annalisa Perea

COUNTY OF FRESNO
Fresno County Board of Supervisors D1: *No Endorsement

CITY OF FRESNO ENDORSEMENTS
Fresno City Council D1: No Endorsement
Fresno City Council D3: No Endorsement
Fresno City Council D5: Brandon Vang
Fresno City Council D7: Ariana Martinez-Lott

Endorsements were won by candidates who completed a Questionnaire. Members at an Endorsement Meeting were polled and candidates with 60% or more support by voting members were endorsed.

In races where “No Endorsement” was given, votes were split between candidates and none received the 60% required for endorsement. Thank you to all the candidates who completed questionnaires and spoke to members and attendees at the Endorsement Meeting (listed alphabetically in each race):

*Unfortunately for one of the endorsed candidates, Maria Pacheco for Board of Supervisors D1, one of the answers on her Questionnaire was found to be inconsistent with known facts. The executive board reviewed the issue in a special session and voted to rescind the endorsement. Later discussions with the candidate, her campaign manager, and other associates, have revealed the candidate had never previously attempted to hide the truth on the matter in question and that this issue was most likely an editing mistake that was overlooked.

Endorsement Meeting March 10 2026

Fresno Stonewall Democrats will be conducting our Endorsement Meeting on Tuesday, March 10th, at 5:30 PM, where members will vote to decide which candidates to endorse for the upcoming Primary Election on June 2, 2026. Endorsement of a candidate requires 60% of members voting. New members must wait a grace period of twenty-eight (28) days before they are eligible to vote — this means only members who joined on or before February 10, 2026 may participate in this process.

Candidates have been invited to attend this meeting, in person or on Zoom, if they would like to address members before the selection process begins (candidates will be allowed to speak for three minutes).

5:30 PM : Dinner and Drink Orders
6:00 PM : Meeting Calls to Order
6:15 PM : Candidates get 3 minutes each

A completed Questionnaire is required to be considered for endorsement and informs our members as to the candidates positions on issues related to our mission and goals. Below are candidates who completed our questionnaire.
