Prop Talks

Abortion freedom is LITERALLY on the ballot this November, along with other critical issues. Don’t miss out this Wednesday, September 21 for the first PropTalk of the year.

Join CADEM and hear from policy experts, community advocates, and Democratic leaders on Yes on Prop 1. Prop 1 will add the right to an abortion directly into the California State Constitution to ensure that, in California, people continue to have the power to control their own bodies and personal decisions.

Join us on September 21 to learn about Yes on Prop 1. Prop 1 protects the fundamental right to abortion and the fundamental right to contraceptives by adding those rights directly into the California State Constitution.

Wednesday, September 21 | 6:30 – 7 p.m.

Join us on September 28 to learn about Yes on Prop 30. Prop 30 taxes annual personal income over $2 million to fund wildfire prevention, clean air and climate change programs.

Wednesday, September 28 | 6:30 – 7 p.m.

Join us on October 5 to learn about No on Prop 27. Prop 27 legalizes online sports betting. Out-of-state corporations would get 90% of the profits leaving little to fight homelessness, and directly attacks the sovereignty of CA Native American tribes.

Wednesday, October 5 | 6:30 – 7 p.m.

Join us on October 12 to learn about Yes on Prop 29. Dialysis patients deserve protection under the law. Prop 29 will help ensure they receive safe treatment in dialysis clinics under the care of a doctor or another highly trained clinician in case of emergencies, without risk of infection, and without discrimination.

Wednesday, October 12 | 6:30 – 7 p.m.

Response To Statements and Actions Against Friday’s Family Pride Night at Fresno Chaffee Zoo

The Fresno Stonewall Democratic Club, a political club devoted to advancing the equal rights of all people, regardless of sexual orientation, preference, or identity, stands in support of Fresno EOC and the Fresno Chaffee Zoo for holding a Pride Night for LGBTQ+ families and allies.

The attack on the LGBTQ+ community as it celebrates Pride in the month of June with parades, flag raisings and celebrations is an attack on our constitutional rights to seek equality.

The hateful rhetoric and misinformation spread by Bredefeld and his Christian Call to Action seem to forget that he has LGBTQ+ constituents and there are LGBTQ+ Christians and members of their churches. Bredefeld has no right to question members of the LGBTQ+ community on their relationship to God or prayer.

2022 is set to break records for anti-LGBTQ legislation, with hundreds of bills introduced across the USA. The gay community has fought for equality for 53 years, since the “Stonewall Riots”, and we will not be silenced or go back.

If Bredefeld and the pastors were true Christians they would recognize that God created all of us, not just the ones they value.

Fresno Stonewall Democrats, President
